We are making this the year that we finally sell our beloved property in Spain : (
Now that the children are nearing the age for secondary school, we are looking to buy a new house here in the UK nearer their school so we now need to sell our old house in Estepona on the Costa del Sol.

It is a lovely 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom duplex penthouse on a really cool urbanisation just a 5 minute walk to the beach near Estepona. It is built over 3 floors with the entire roof as one large terrace with sea and mountain views that has electricity sockets and running water for a huge jacuzzi (not included ;))
As well as the roof terrace, there are 4 other terraces. One small terrace for the middle bedroom on the second floor, one large terrace (with running water and electricity) for the master bedroom, also on the second floor, with beautiful mountain views, one lovely terrace just off the kitchen that gets the evening sun and a large terrace off the main living area that gets the morning sun…also with beautiful mountain views.
The kitchen is fully equipped with Siemens utilities including oven, washing machine and dishwasher and double doors opening out onto the sunny terrace.
The whole property has marble floors throughout with air conditioning (hot and cold) in all rooms. All rooms have great security shutters on the windows and doors that double as sun-blockers for those lazy lie-ins!
The main bedroom has a nice, en-suite bathroom with full sized bath, sink, toilet and bidet. There is a second bathroom that serves the two other bedrooms on the second floor with bath, sink, toilet and bidet and the third bathroom is a shower room on the ground floor that has a shower, toilet and bidet.
At present, the property has long term tenants that have been “in situ” for around 4 years with no problems whatsoever. This can be a benefit if you wish to buy the property as an investment although the most recent contract with them states that we are now able to sell the property whilst giving them a month’s notice after the sale.
The urbanisation is Costa Galera Country Club or Albayt Resort and is beautiful!
When we lived there, we used the facilities a LOT. There are 7 outdoor swimming pools with the main pool being quite large, on two level with a very nice bar/restaurant overlooking it. The pool near the club house is also split into 2 with the smaller pool being reserved for children and toddlers.
The Club House is stunning.
It has a small, heated indoor swimming pool surrounded by a large jacuzzi, cool plunge pools and a selection of very nice herbal showers and saunas.
There is also a large gym, spa area and treatment room and all of this is on the lower level.
On the upper level, you have the main reception area, a large restaurant with huge terrace overlooking the golf area and ponds. There is also a library area for simply chilling out and reading…I used to do a lot of my work there as they have Wi-Fi available.
The golf area outside is a neat little 3 hole, par 3 course with a large putting green near the club house. There is also a driving range and on-site professional for a few “brush up” golf lessons before heading off to one of the 60 golf courses on the coast. Nearby, in fact just over the hill from Costa Galera Country Club, is the reasonably priced yet fairly challenging Estepona Golf Course…one of my favourites.

Our property is also just a 2-3 hour drive to the amazing Sierra Nevada Ski Resort near Granada. We have been there a few times and the town and skiing is brilliant. Sierra Nevada has the longest ski season in Europe so you are able to ski in the morning and sunbathe on the beach in the afternoon for a lot of the year…heaven!
We paid €300,000 for this property in 2003 when it was under construction and we moved into the property in 2005. In 2006/7 the property was valued at €420,000 but we understand that the property market is somewhat depressed in Spain so are open to offers. A recent, current estimate from Your Viva on the coast was around €295,000 but if you found this page independently, we are looking at private offers around
