Montreux is a stunning town in a sheltered bay on Lake Geneva in Switzerland. Surrounding the town is a mix of vineyards and the breathtaking snow-capped Alps. The area has a relatively mild climate and has been home to various famous people such as Charlie Chaplin and Freddie Mercury.

You can even take a free tour of the superb Queen Studios which is where they spent many years creating their music.

I love my job! Especially when I get to spend a week in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Switzerland. It has been on my bucket list to visit Montreux for a number of years. To visit:

Montreux also holds a special place in my heart for one of my favourite songs “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple. The song is about a Frank Zappa fan burning down the Casino after a flare they fired went AWOL. Deep Purple then wrote a song about the event which went on to become one of their biggest hits.

The main reason for going there was to shoot a ton of stock images and video. This is to add to my portfolios on the many libraries that I am a member of. I still have a ton of work to do! The plan moving forward is to visit a lot more cities and locations like this in the future whilst shooting stock.
