Filming the Chichester Half Marathon

The Chichester half marathon is an annual event held in Sussex. Runners face a mixture of road, trail and cross country terrain as well as passing some historical landmarks in Chichester town. It is a race for anyone to challenge themselves, get fit and fund-raise for local and national charities.

Mid October 2015 and we were blessed with a warm, clear “Indian Summer” day with light winds for the Chichester Half Marathon.

Working with Mark Boyt from Sussex By Air, I did some aerial shots within the grounds of Chichester Festival Theatre as the main pack flowed through during the early stages of the race. Mark filmed the start using another Inspire 1 and another colleague filmed the race from the back of a motorbike.

Once the runners had left the grounds I was in, I made my way back to the Chichester College Campus at Westgate Fields where I filmed the first three (male) winners coming home and the first female as well as the awards ceremony.

All in all it was a great day and we left buzzing and ready for the next challenge.
