Drone Video Course in Chichester

Drone Video Course Chichester

It's not just drone video I teach...

Moving beyond just aerial video

The weather was perfect for a recent one to one drone video course recently. It had been touch and go but on the morning of the course, it was sunny and cold but the light was stunning as you can see above.

Pete's wife had bought him this training course for his 40th birthday so it came as a bit of a surprise. However, what a great gift to buy the drone enthusiast looking to improve his skills.

If you would like to purchase a voucher for either yourself or a loved one for a special occasion, please get in touch.

I am happy to travel anywhere along the south coast and even a bit further north so please get in touch to discuss if interested.

Dates available on request.

The Training

It became apparent pretty quickly that Pete's flying skills were pretty good. I was impressed with the competent flying of his DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone. So what was I to teach him if not flying skills?

Pete was looking to expand his YouTube channel which currently hosts various travel and landscape videos in and around Pembrokeshire. Now whilst the landscapes are breath-taking and the flying solid and stable, I pointed out that slow moving clips needs to be shorter as to not lose the viewers interest.

I also talked about the importance of establishing shots, closing shots and ground video added where appropriate from aerial shots. Pete was about to take things a lot further as he has recently bought a very cool Fifish V6 Expert underwater drone!

Jealous much?

Anyway, we visited a stunning little harbour just outside Chichester and flew our drones with some guidance from me about angles, different viewpoints and flying techniques interspersed with some ground footage.

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable days training and I was pleased to see Pete's first video (below) after training where he incorporated some of these ideas in his inaugural "flight" of the underwater drone.

Nice one Pete and I love that ending showing off the beast!

As an aspiring YouTuber and amateur aerial photographer with several years experience behind me, I lacked the technical knowledge, creative skills and 'polish' that would allow me to raise my online presence up a notch. A day spent with Nick Stubbs changed all that!

Nick is a very friendly and enthusiastic professional photographer with years of hard-earned experience behind the lens, both on the ground and in the sky. His attention to detail and bespoke tuition is invaluable to any amateur drone pilot and photographer wishing to up their game and learn how to produce consistent, quality products.

Nick provided me with the advice and tips I needed, as well as practical tuition as to how to get the best out of the camera lens, be it using a drone or other system, and provided me with an insight into the directions I could drive my hobby in. I look forward to putting Nick's advice into practice. Thanks Nick!
