Hope Farm Wedding Venue Aerial Photo

Hope Farm Dorset Weddings, Bridport

The Hope Farm wedding venue in Dorset is a prime example of why many couples are opting for single venue weddings.

I've had the pleasure of filming multiple weddings at Hope Farm and it has become my favourite wedding environment. Not only is it the perfect location for weddings, but the family running the farm are super friendly, hard-working, efficient and always do their best to ensure that your day goes without a hitch...

...(well, except for one hitch of course : )

The benefits of a single location wedding

6 Benefits of Booking a Single Wedding Venue

Let's go through these in more detail based on my experience

Reduced Travel Stress

Traffic Stress for Wedding

Having just one venue for your wedding means less travel, less traffic, less parking headaches and less stress for everyone. The bride (and bridal party) normally stays on site the night before her wedding at Hope Farm so no worries there.

The guests turn up on time, after a nice drive through the Dorset countryside, and can park up and walk a short distance to the venue. Having the car park away from the main events means no disruption or distractions from late arrivals or early departures.

As a videographer, the reduced stress is palpable. Having shot a wedding with 7, yes 7! different locations, believe me, having one location is heaven. The lack of stress for me means I can concentrate 100% on doing what I do best. This also applies to the photographer, caterers, wedding planners, band/musicians etc.

Cost Effective

The savings here can be good for everyone as you combine the ceremony and reception venue. For a start, you won't necessarily need wedding car(s) to take the wedding party to and from the church and reception (although the funky Tut-tut at Hope Farm is a great feature for your wedding.

Then you can add on the potential parking fees for guests for each typical wedding venue (although reception venues are generally free).

Reception venue fees can vary greatly depending on where you have the wedding breakfast and evening entertainment but from what I can see, and for what you get, the fees at Hope Farm are well below average in the UK.

One venue, one fee, one happy couple.

Consistent Aesthetic

Of course, this is super important not just for the couple but for the creatives like myself. The decorations, colours and overall ambience of a wedding play a huge part in how I edit and create the video. In my days of wedding photography, this would also apply to the wedding photo album and other keepsakes.

Also, decorating multiple venues and relying on separate staff/planners to get it right can be hard to oversee. At every single-wedding venue I have been to, the organisation is so much simpler, even/especially when issues like poor weather rear their ugly head.

Streamlined Coordination

Expanding on the aesthetic above, coordinating the wedding at a single venue is not only easier but it is so much more enjoyable. This is a happy occasion and if all the suppliers are stress-free, well organised and on time, everybody wins.

All personnel are within earshot at Hope Farm for example. If something isn't quite right or needs adjusting, moving, removing or changing, there is always someone at hand. Like a well-oiled machine.

As a videographer, I have plenty of time between events to set up tripods, audio equipment and cameras meaning I am more efficient giving me more time to capture more of your shenanigans!

Imagine what this was like at that 7-venue wedding!

Guest Comfort

The chances are you have been to a wedding or two so you understand the importance of comfort. Venues that have a fair distance from the church to the reception are a pain, especially if you get caught in traffic. ESPECIALLY if you have young children on board.

Traffic, hunger, thirst and toilet needs can all cause anxiety and stress when travelling between venues on a busy weekend. Getting married at Hope Farm means everything you need is a short walk away so you can relax.

Whilst not strictly a guest, it is a lot easier for me to get access to all of my equipment as I need various gear throughout the day. This could be lighting, tripods, drone gear etc so having it all within walking distance make a huge difference.

Extended Venue Time

Weddings are all about having fun right?

The less time you have driving, parking, lugging kids around and all that, the more time you have with family and friends. This extra time is really important for the couple too as they get to see and speak to most if not all of the guests.

I have shot many weddings where the couple simply haven't had the time to get to everyone. Having your wedding at somewhere like Hope Farm in Dorset means all of the above is taken care of leaving you, as a couple, to really enjoy your day!
